PanelView operator terminals provide the local screen and keypad or touch interface on many Allen-Bradley machines. Standard terminals are older and fully obsolete, while PanelView Plus has been superseded by newer generations. The application usually lives on the terminal, so backups matter.

- Exact catalogue number, since screen size, touch or keypad, and communications are encoded in it
- Firmware revision and software version of the application
- Whether a communication module or memory card is required
- Whether the application file has a backup, as replacement terminals arrive without it
