The SLC 500 is a compact chassis-based controller from Rockwell Automation, programmed with RSLogix 500. Fixed and modular versions are still running packaging, material handling and process lines. Processors, I/O modules and power supplies are all now sourced from surplus.
What to check before ordering
- Processor series and OS series (for example SLC 5/04 OS402), because they affect programming software support
- Chassis slot count and power supply rating against the loaded modules
- Whether the module is fitted with a battery or memory module and what is stored on it
- Series letter of I/O modules, since some are not interchangeable across series
